Uses

Isopropyl Unoprostone 0.12% Sawai is used to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) in adults diagnosed with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It is used either alone or with other medications to prevent or delay the development of finding visual field loss due to elevation of IOP.

Mechanism of Action

Isopropyl Unoprostone 0.12% Sawai works by stimulating the production of norepinephrine within the ciliary processes of the eye. This increases the production of aqueous humor, with a consequent decrease in IOP.

Isopropyl Unoprostone 0.12% Sawai begins to reduce IOP within 10 minutes of use and achieves maximum activity in 2 to 6 hours.
